mamajoanI see a lot of people on lj (and heard 'em IRL tonight) complaining about the unseasonably warm weather. I guess we're having it all up the East Coast of the US, at least, these last few days.
I guess I'm in the minority as someone who's loving the hell out of it. I've always been in the minority in terms of preferring really hot weather. When we play that "would you rather be freezing cold or really hot" game, I'm the only one who ever says she'd rather be really hot. People are always all, "well, if you're cold you can put on lots of sweaters," but the thing is, no matter how many sweaters you wear, you're still cold. And when I'm cold, my shoulders and back get all bunched up and tight. It's awful, and with this back, the last thing I need is a reason for *more* tension. Whereas with hot weather, you can strip naked and lie around fanning yourself and be lazy. I love it! The hotter the better. I even like a fair amount of humidity (although when it reaches a certain point, I have trouble breathing, and that kinda sucks). And all those things contribute to hot weather being sexy, erotic. Cold weather isn't erotic (nipples notwithstanding). Hot weather, you expose your body, you get sweaty, you move more slowly, you pant; inherently erotic.
I also really dislike air-conditioning. I hate it when it's really hot in the summertime and you go to the office and it's freezing inside from the AC. You have to keep a sweater at the office, and really that kind of dramatic temperature change is bad for the body anyway. And I don't like the way AC feels either, all artificial and chemical-y on the skin and in the nose and throat.
So, my basic point is, I've been loving the last few days with the really hot weather. They're predicting record highs of around 90F for tomorrow, and I'm all excited! I'll probably go for a walk, barefoot! And, like I did today, wear a skirt with no undies! Maybe I'll even go bra-less! And people wonder why I find hot weather erotic?
