haircut pix

mamajoanI'm a little sad about the haircut I gave Isaac tonight, because (as usual) it makes him look so much older! And I miss his long crazy curls already. Snif.
For ages now I've fretted that the hair on the back of Isaac's head was so out of control. I like it being long, but it was all unruly no matter how much I combed it. So I frequently bemoaned my lack of know-how that would, I presumed, enable me to tame it without just cutting it all off. Meanwhile, the front and sides were easier; when they hung down into his eyes/ears, I would trim it.
Tonight I not only trimmed the front and sides, I also tackled the back. I still didn't know what the hell I was doing in terms of how to preserve the length but get it under control -- so I fear I didn't leave it long enough. :( Still, it was still damp when I took these pictures, so who knows what it'll look like in the morning. And if nothing else, it'll grow back.
Sorry I don't have "before" pix, but this post from last week gives you some idea of what it was like -- albeit it doesn't do justice to what a mess the back was.
And here are the "after" pix from tonight:
Just in case it isn't clear, you don't need to tell/reassure me that it looks fine. I know it looks fine. (well, aside from the unevenness in the front, which is par for the your-mom-cut-your-hair course.) I'm just having one of those "my baby growing up waah" moments.
