time, time

mamajoanOne of my fantasy goals is for us to be leaving the house for work/daycare consistently every morning around 8:20 or 8:30. That pretty much never happens. These days, if we leave at 8:40, I consider it a good day. When I get into the car, I always look at the car clock and if it says 8:40 I go "cool, we're doin' good" or if it says 8:55 I go "yikes, we're running super late!"
This morning it said 8:08. Wow!
The thing is, I'm really bad about time -- knowing how long something takes, knowing how long it has been (e.g. if you and I were having a conversation and you asked how long since we started talking, I would have no clue), and so forth. So I don't really get why we were so early today. ;) I actually did a momentary panic thinking I had forgotten to do something crucial -- but really all I do in the mornings is get up, feed Isaac his yogurt, get us both dressed, and go. This morning it went faster because we woke up a little earlier than usual and I didn't linger in bed before getting up. (Which in turn was because Isaac was agitating for his yogurt. He starts saying "gum-ma-ma" (come on mama) which kinda cracks me up, heh.)
Anyway, so we got out early, which is cool.
It's so funny to watch Isaac interacting with his little daycare buddies. As soon as I started taking him out of the carseat he started saying their names, and when we got inside, his little pal Riley came over and tried to help me take Isaac's coat and scarf off. LOL! Then Isaac likes to point at all the other little kids and say their names. He knows almost all of them, Riley, James, Makena, Jessica, Emily, Gus. Then he and Riley started chasing each other up and down the climbing structure. :) It was cute.
I wrote this in the morning but got called into a meeting so didn't get a chance to post it till now. d'oh.
