Well, Isaac slept well last night but I didn't, alas. I think taking more Sudafed before bed when I wasn't as congested as the previous night was a mistake; it *totally* dried out my throat and I kept waking up because my throat was so dry and sore. sigh. I do feel better this morning; still a little congested, but mostly we seem to have moved on to the "coughing and hacking" stage, with much fun mucus being produced. I made Cream of Wheat thinking Isaac and I would share it, but he refused to even try it. I put maple syrup in it and everything; it was delicious. He's a silly boy.

It's pouring rain right now, which is mildly annoying, but better than the same amount of snow any day. I'm working from home; my mom just came and got Isaac. We put on his Spider-Man boots so he can stomp in puddles. There are going to be a lot of puddles for stomping.

My mom brought me a piece of mail that got sent to her house. Apparently I'm being called for jury duty in Cambridge in April. I don't know why they still have my mom's address as mine; I haven't officially lived there since late 2000, and I've lived at three different addresses since then, and been registered to vote in each one, and paid taxes from each one. So I don't know what their problem is, but whatever. The date specified is a Wednesday, and it's going to be a freaking pain in the ass to try to take Isaac to daycare and get back to the courthouse by 9am, so I'll have to try to work something out with my mom or someone else to help with that. Why couldn't it have been a Thursday? Good thing I have two months to figure something out.

They don't let you respond by mail with checkboxes for why you shouldn't be called? New Jersey has a whole little form, or, did the last time I got called. It's been a while.

Sure they do, but I don't think "you got my address wrong you idiots" counts as a valid reason to disqualify me. I mean, it's not like I've moved hundreds of miles away -- I'm just in the next town over. I'm still in the same county, and I think that's all they care about.

Ohhh, it's the same county. Nevermind. I read it as if you'd moved completely out of that court's jurisdiction, probably because I've had that exact situation happen to me before.
