mamajoan: me in hammock (got snark?)

I'm clearly in a pissy mood anyway, so I offer up this meme that I saw chez [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o:
1. Comment with any subject that you would like me to rant on, with possible swearing involved. Any subject - I don't even have to agree with it. (swearing is probable)

2. Watch my journal for your rant.

3. Post this in your own journal, so that you may rant for others.

In non-ranty news, on my lunch break I went to get cat food, which we were pretty much completely out of, and they didn't have the 8.5-pound bag that I usually get. They only had the 3.5-pounder and the humongous 17.5-pounder. [Insert rant about the stupidness of sizing the bags in half-pound increments here.] I dithered but then decided that it would make no sense to get the smaller bag, as the bigger one is obviously a better value and will mean that I don't have to worry about cat food for a long time. So I bought it, and then I braced myself to pick it up off the counter (the pet-store woman had carried it up for me because she had to go looking for it), and when I picked it up, I was like, "waitaminnit, this isn't heavy at all." Then I realized that when you haul around a 26-pound toddler all day, a dinky little 18-pound bag of cat food ain't nothin'. So to speak. ;)

I got two boxes from Stampin' Up recently, one was 23 pounds, the other was 19 or so pounds. I picked them up one at a time, expecting for them to be really heavy and they weren't. Then I remembered that Roo is 26 pounds and I end up picking her up a lot (though not as much now since "I do it" has become a standard phrase for her), and duh, the boxes are lighter. ;)

As for ranting, how about a nice, long rant on people who can't drive, specifically the ones that cut you off and then slow down, the ones who think your following distance was put there for them to merge into, and as long as we're talking about merging, the people who think merging onto the expressway at 25 miles an hour is ok. :)

You must be developing some muscles, chlaal! Go you!

Rant on the fact that there are no more shows to get excited about since the departure of Buffy and Angel from the airwaves.
