I forgot one!
Jan. 10th, 2005 04:33 pmI forgot an item for the "things that make me happy" list -- realizing/remembering that I have a gift certificate for a massage. It expires 3/2005 (not sure if that means 3/1 or 3/31) so that means I'll be getting a massage pretty soon. Yay! :)

http://www.mass.gov/treasury/gift_cert.htm
"A law passed last year requires that all gift certificates -- including gift cards -- redeemed in Massachusetts not expire for seven years from the date of purchase. This law went into effect June 1, 2003.
This new law enables businesses to keep the money of unredeemed gift certificates after seven years from issuance -- as long as said gift certificates have dates of issuance and expiration clearly marked on them. Under the new law, gift certificates without such dates are redeemable in perpetuity."
That's a little tricky because a) my GC was purchased after that date (I got it for my birthday in March '03) and b) it only has an expiration date on it, not an issuance date. Does this mean it's redeemable in perpetuity? Not clear. But I think I'll just go for the massage before March, rather than bother to look into it any more. :)
