Dec. 24th, 2004 09:15 amDid I want to be up at 7:00 a.m. on my first day of a three-day weekend? I did not.
Was I up at 7:00 a.m.? One guess.
Oh well, welcome to parenthood. It's days like these I spend the morning counting the minutes until it feels late enough to reasonably call my mom. ;)
On the bright side, yesterday afternoon was fairly productive. I thought I must be nuts to go to a major toy store on the afternoon of December 23rd, but I figured at least I'd be calm, unlike most of those frantic last-minute shoppers, because I just needed one thing for one person; and if they didn't have what I was looking for, I'd think of something else for that person. Anyway, they did have the thing I wanted, so yay.
Then I went into Whole Foods, because I was there, but then I realized I didn't really need much on account of I just did a grocery run the other day. Heh. Well, I picked some stuff up anyway, because, hey, here I am in Whole Foods!
Then it took me like three years to get home (damn holiday/rush-hour traffic) and then I accomplished some stuff at home. I got the kitty litter cleaned out and vacuumed the whole area and then washed the floor; did all the dishes, scrubbed off the highchair tray that seriously needed it, washed the floor under the highchair.
AND, I found that the new cabinet locks I had bought did in fact fit my cabinets! So far I hadn't been able to find locks that didn't involve drilling and screwing for installation, because my cabinet doors apparently are wider apart than the standard. But I found one that works, so now Isaac can't get into the cabinet where the cleaning products are, and this is a Good Thing. I also found one that might work on the drawer where I keep my tampons; it remains to be seen. Not that it's a tragedy to have tampons anywhere, but, uh, it's annoying.
OK, he just brought me a toy, time to get back to "work"! Happy Ricky Martin's birthday, everyone. ;)
