Well, Isaac's first snowy morning of the winter was, heh, not the biggest success. He hated having his boots put on, and flat-out refused to even try walking on the snowy porch/stairs/sidewalk. The snow on the ground and in the air freaked him out. I had to carry him to the car. Then he kicked off his boots in the car. Apparently, his boots are a bit big. ;) Then he screamed the whole time I was scraping the ice/snow off the car. I don't know whether it was the noise scaring him, or he was just cold and bored and annoyed, but he wasn't happy. He calmed right down as soon as we got moving though.

Roads were fairly icky. Sure am glad to have the new car with the AWD and the overall not-sucking-on-snow-ness. Sure hope they get around to plowing the road to daycare before pickup time, 'cause it wasn't much fun getting there. Will probably leave work early if it keeps snowing all day.

En route, I saw a sign that said "Xmas [picture of tree] Ahead." But if you mistook the tree part for a decoration on the sign rather than an integral part, it looked like it said "Xmas Ahead," which I thought was kinda funny.

Also saw a bumper sticker reading, "Vegetarians Taste Better." I'm not sure whether that's an oral-sex reference (hence, vegetarian-friendly) or a cannibalism one (hence, anti-vegetarian). Eh?

In other news, thanks (or something) to [livejournal.com profile] emrinalexander, I have "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas" in my head. And the MP3 on my computer! Yay!

I think I need a new default me-and-Isaac icon. The summery one just makes me sad now. :P

I have a t-shirt that says this. I bought it when I was a vegetarian, picturing the first reference at the time.

if it's one with a carrot...

I found this (sold by carotjuice.com) and it's a meeting place for vegans & vegetarians, so it seems pretty veggie friendly...

Cute ... mostly. I can't get behind the "cut the crap" one though. I don't think fostering animosity between vegetarians and vegans is helpful.

especially since I knew a heck of a lot of Oberlin vegans who ate nothing BUT crap -- non-animal product does _not_ mean healthy.

...and especially since it's just as feasible to get E Coli from veggies as it is from meat, since manure gets used as fertilizers.

'Also saw a bumper sticker reading, "Vegetarians Taste Better."'

I'd guess that it's a cannibalism reference and it's probably true since carnivorous animals are not supposed to be good to eat.

To me it reads like a cannibalism reference. But it's really six of one, half a dozen of the other; you could read it either way.

OTOH, if you get a T-shirt that says that and decide to read it as an oral-sex reference, do you really want to explain to Isaac what it means?

I prefer to think of it as a oral sex reference, as I have it on good authority that it's true. *g*
