OK, I guess the way it works is you hit shuffle on your media player program and post some lyrics from each of the first X songs that come up. Then your flist has to guess the song and artist.

I had to do a lot of skipping, on account of most of my playlist is classical instrumental, but I did manage to scrounge up ten actual songs. :)

1. He said "make yourself at home, boy, I just prewarmed all the griddles." Moxy Fruvous, "Johnny Saucep'n," guessed by [livejournal.com profile] kenboy

2. In restless walks she'll prowl the night Simon & Garfunkel, "April Come She Will," guessed by [livejournal.com profile] maggiesox

3. Darling, you won, it's no fun/Martinis, girls, and guns/It's murder on our love affair Sheryl Crow, "Tomorrow Never Dies," guessed by [livejournal.com profile] 00smut

4. Think of what you're saying/You can get it wrong and still you think that it's all right The Beatles, "We Can Work It Out," guessed by [livejournal.com profile] xochiquetzl

5. Children killing children/While the students rape their teachers/Comets fly across the sky/While the churches burn their preachers

6. You said that she's one who helped you see/How deep you're in love with me

7. Everybody's dancing/The music sounds entrancing/But you can't find the beat

8. The same desert, the same God/And it only rains once a year/Why is one man blessed with plenty/While the other's left to scratch in the dirt?

9. Comes the morning and the headlights fade away/Hundred thousand people I'm the one they blame A-Ha, "The Living Daylights," guessed by [livejournal.com profile] maggiesox

10. I don't like your tragic sighs, as if your god has passed you by Sarah McLachlan, "Ice," guessed by [livejournal.com profile] maggiesox

Well, I think some of 'em are kinda hard. But what do I know? :) Give 'em a shot. Oh, and two of them are from the same album, but they're different artists. Is that too big a hint? :)

Correct! Although my version is actually a cover. I can't say whose, because there's another song from that album on the list.
