Dec. 16th, 2004 03:24 pmIsaac had his 18-month checkup this morning. Everything is doing fine. He weighs 25 pounds and is 32.75 inches tall. He's right in the 50th percentile for both of those, which is pretty much where he has been all along, ever since he outgrew that preemie stage. ;) The pediatrician was impressed by his ability to put two words together ("more book") and said that his language skills seem to be ahead of the curve. :) Physically all is well with him. He has a molar poking through that he showed the ped that he hasn't shown me before today. Hmf! How come I never have any luck looking in his mouth?
In other news, I finally bit the bullet and called to have our heating-oil tank filled. I had been delaying on it, because we supposedly were going to get the furnaces replaced and convert to gas heat, but we haven't gotten around to it (haven't been able to find a plumber) and the heat has been coming on, which means we're using oil. I went down to the basement recently to check the tank level, and the gauge was so grimy I couldn't even read it. But I know it's gotta be pretty low. I talked to Brian, my fellow homeowner, and he said that he found out what oil company the previous owners had used, and called them and had his tank refilled.
So I called them as well, and it was a painless process. They'll come tomorrow to fill it up, and then I'll get the bill, which will be the painful part of the process. ;) But hey, we gotta have heat in our apartment, don't we?
The other night was trash night and one of the neighbors had put out a bundle of yard waste that, at first glance, I mistook for an old dead shriveled Christmas tree. Boy, was I confused for a moment there. :)
All of a sudden I'm getting copies of TV Guide in my mailbox each week. I have some vague memory that I signed up for it as part of a free promotion. I can't remember the details, but I never sign up for those things if they require a credit-card number, because then they start billing you and although you can call to cancel, I never remember to do so. So I must have signed up for one that didn't ask for a credit card. I don't remember the details. *g* The memory is the first to ... what was I saying again? Anyway, it's worth five minutes' entertainment to read the TV news in TV Guide, even though I watch so little TV these days that it doesn't really affect me much.
Speaking of TV news, though, seems like everyone on my flist who's into Stargate has commented on the latest casting spoiler, except for
xochiquetzl. 'Sup with that? Maybe she is avoiding spoilers. I'm mildly excited by it myself, not in a "going to start watching the show" way, but in a "glad to hear that actor is getting work" way.
OK, I think that's enough randomosity for one post. :)

Date: 2004-12-16 12:32 pm (UTC)Btw, sorry for the lack of input on the sleep issues. I was going through my own sleep deprivation meltdown myself this week. Must stop drinking caffeine after 5.
