I accomplished my three main goals while Isaac was with his babysitter, to wit: took a shower, added water to the waterbed, and located my stock certificate from my old job. (That company, I believe I've mentioned, is getting bought out and I have to send in the certificate in order to get my cash. Woohoo! Cash!)

So I did all that, and then the babysitter called to say that he had fallen asleep and I should wait another couple of hours. Woohoo! So I spent another couple of hours, uh, goofing off. ;)

Then I picked up Isaac from the babysitter and we went to Target and accomplished my two main goals for that, namely, getting Isaac some more socks (note to self: open the package and make sure they're going to fit) and getting us a new toaster oven. Our old one is REALLY old and lately when I've tried to use the oven part, it won't stay on unless I hold the button down. Needless to say, this is unacceptable. So I got a new one for only $30 and life is good. (I also spent too much on cute new sweaters for Isaac. But they're cute! And they're sweaters! And did I mention cute!)

Anyway, so all in all it was a pretty productive day, especially for a Sunday on the last day of a 4-day weekend. Yay.

In closing, a meme from [livejournal.com profile] ladyvyola (I've just corrected the grammar, because I'm a geek):
If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend, and whom you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.
There are a lot of people reading this to whom this applies, most notably [livejournal.com profile] ww1614, [livejournal.com profile] plaidder, and [livejournal.com profile] techn0goddess. <3

I have a similar problem with my toaster oven, except it's the toaster part that doesn't work unless you hold down the button. The oven part works fine, but I use the toaster part to toast things like biscuits and scones that don't fit into the normal toaster.

Isn't it weird? Judi and I often mention how we *met* in real life (through another GL friend I don't think you ever knew) but became friends because of the ease of email.

Oh, my. I could go broke on Target baby clothes. I just spent $150 there on winter clothes for my two kiddos (I don't usually spend that much, but they were grown out of everything). Included in that were 2 sweaters for my 4 year old and 1 for my 1 year old. Cutest sweaters ever.

I mean, I love Target stuff in general, and their baby stuff is darn cute, especially since they carry a lot of Carter's. But I do kind of balk at paying $15 for one sweater that he's going to wear a couple months and then outgrow. Especially since we get so much good stuff in hand-me-downs from [livejournal.com profile] ww1614 and from thrift stores and so forth. It's just that every now and then I like the idea of getting him something new too, you know? :)

I hear ya. 15 bucks is too much to pay for a teensy scrap of fabric. That's why I get just a few of them, and then stock up on turtlenecks, sweatpants, and 5 dollar jeans, all in the same color scheme. I'm a big fan of the mix-and-match ;)
