whee, day before thanksgiving
Nov. 24th, 2004 10:43 amWow, is it quiet at the office. Whee! Must be holiday time....
Yesterday there were free bagels and cream cheese in the employee kitchen -- leftovers from a VIP breakfast meeting. The following conversation ensued:
Coworker #1: How come they don't make cinnamon bagels without raisins?
Me: Hey, yeah, I would love that.
Coworker #1: We can put a man on the moon...!
Me: ...So how come we can't make a a raisin-free cinnamon bagel??
Coworker #2: You just have to say, "Give me a cinnamon-raisin bagel, hold the raisins." I'm going to try that next time I go to Dunkin' Donuts.
Me: Right, and then you'll see them back there picking out the raisins with their fingers.
All: Eww.
Well, maybe you hadda be there, but it was funny.
and yes, I know, some places do make cinnamon bagels. But they are fairly hard to find.
Yesterday I made hard-boiled eggs for the first time ever. Isn't that sad? They are probably the easiest thing in the world to cook. Even easier than pasta, because they're not as time-sensitive. And yet, I'd never made them before. Well, that could be because I'm not really a fan of hard-boiled eggs. I used to love them when I was a kid, but now, not so much. But Isaac loves them! I cut them up and he eats them with a fork. He can eat an entire egg in one sitting (although he doesn't eat all the yolk). It's like one of his favorite things these days, and I'm glad because it's so high in protein and as vegetarians I do worry a bit about his protein intake. So, the more egg the merrier.
And it's pretty funny to see him get all excited when I say "want an egg?" and he runs over to his high chair and stands there bouncing up and down going "Geh! Geh!" (Which is his way of saying "egg.") It's really funny how excited he gets about stuff. You should have seen him this morning when the garbage truck came by. :)
