Isaac update

mamajoanSo Isaac has an ear infection. I took him to the doctor yesterday about his lingering cough, and she ended up diagnosing the ear infection, which hopefully was caused by the same thing that's causing the cough, which in turn we hope will respond to antibiotics. So it's another course of amoxycillin for him. On the plus side, he doesn't seem to mind taking the medicine, opens his mouth right up for it, which is a big switch from last time when it was a fight to get it in him every time! Also on the plus side, it's only his second ear infection ever; many kids by his age have had a LOT more than two. I credit the magic boobie juice. :)
He really hasn't been acting like a sick/in-pain child at all. I only took him in because of the coughing, which hasn't been terrible, but has been lingering, and has woken him up many nights in a row now. But when I told his daycare teachers about the ear infection they were pretty surprised, which tells me that he hasn't been acting sick, which is nice, especially if it means that the ear hasn't been bothering him too much. It's hard to know!
I feel so blessed, though, to have a kid who is so easygoing and acts (or tries to act) cheerful and happy even when something is bothering him like that. I don't know how I managed to get that sort of child, but I am grateful for it!
In other miscellaneous Isaac news, his latest words are bath and bus, and the doctor was impressed with his verbal abilities; and he has discovered the joys of walking through / stomping on piles of fallen leaves. :) And last night he had his first-ever bubble bath; although the bubbles intrigued him while the tub was filling, he found them kinda freaky once he was actually in the tub. Every time some bubbles got on his hand he would hold it out to me and whimper until I washed them off. LOL.
