lol. I called my dad when I got home from the gym because I knew he'd be up watching the end of the game. It was 3-0 at the end of the 7th when I walked out of the gym, and sure enough shortly after I got home they won. :)

I wonder if this will help Kerry...

I was at work and someone said, "this team who never won in decades won the National Baseball thingy" and I ask "the Red Sox" and they were like "Yeah, I think so".

And that was it, because, baseball, not a big thing here, but I immediately thought of you. Well done!

I stayed up watching the game, and thinking about you going nuts in front of your TV.

Fenway is only the 2nd ball park I've ever been to, outside of Toronto. And I liked it so much better than the sky dome, but then I'm a sucker for things with history.

And I say that even knowing the kvelling my family will have to put up with from my grandfather in St. Louis, who will be starting a write in campaign to fire the Card's manager. (That said, he wants to fire the guy even when they win, so que sera...)

The Curse is Lifted

Due to the time shift, the game was on from 10am here... live on Fox Sports. I taped it to watch when I got home from work. Of course then I couldn't check any news or even my livejournal...

One of the best things about baseball is that every game is a nail biter. Right up to the very end, it's always possible, however unlikely, to win.

The Red Sox out-pitched, out-batted and (modulo a few embarrassing but ultimately unimportant errors in the first two games) out-played the Cards. They led throughout every game of the series. And of course they started this one off with a home run. I thought they thoroughly deserved to win.

And yeah, I thought of you and your mom.

I managed to catch a fair amount of the game on the radio, and the last three innings on TV, so I didn't miss it entirely. That was fabulous, and exciting even for me, and I've never been a sports fan. At the end, all I could think was, "Why didn't I program chlaal's number into my cell phone?"

Hee! I'm sorry you couldn't call! I would have called you, but I didn't have your number in my cellphone either, and I was busy calling other people, and then I had to go out in the street and hug some random strangers. :)
