I updated Isaac's website -- finally uploaded the pages for July, August, and September. Whew! I had fallen pretty far behind! Anyway, a lot of the pix are ones that I already posted here, but probably not all of 'em.

Two years ago when I was pregnant, I went to Japan on tour with my chorus, and there I bought two baby-sized kimonos. Last night I tried them on Isaac to see whether one of them might make a good Halloween costume for him this year.

This one didn't seem right somehow. I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be tied with a sash, or supposed to have something under it. Also, he wouldn't sit still for a good picture of it. ;) I put it on over his jeans just out of sheer laziness.

This one looked better. I think it's too small, because I think it's supposed to be pants-length and long-sleeved, rather than shorts-length and short-sleeved, but it still looks pretty cute. :)

Also, this morning I took some pix of him wearing his new shoes. I'm not sure whether you can really see the shoes very well to tell how cute they are, but here they are.

This is a terrible picture of him (weird angle, red-eye makes him look evil ;) ) but I include it because it's the best shot I got of the shoes.

My big grown-up boy in his big grown-up shoes!!

Anyway, even if you can't make out the shoes well enough, there's my adorable boy. :) Oh, and in case you're wondering, the shoes are on the Stride Rite website: this model, in the brown ("dark chocolate") color.

And since I'm pic-spamming anyway, here, have a picture of Isaac multitasking again. LOL.

With balls in both hands and a Triscuit in his mouth, a boy is good to go! :)

Oh, when they suddenly have so many teeth and a haircut and you've put them in real socks and shoes and sweats -- ooooooh, he's a little boy, not a baby and you just want to wail and eat him up at the same time?

I do not know that feeling at all.

Aw, man, your son is cuter than...than...Michael Rosenbaum! He's cuter than Lex Luthor!

Which, as you know, is REALLY REALLY CUTE!

Death by kimomo charm! And, or course, you know I've got a shoe-thing ;-).

Yes, the kimono (first picture) is supposed to be sashed (left lapel over right). In terms of layers, it could be worn alone, as one of several layers of kimonos, or with a hakama (those cook pleated maxi-skort things).

The second one is supposed to be sleeve and leg of some tweeny lenght... just like they are. Both are fabulous.

Now picturing Isaac learning to fold his arm inside the sleeve and do the Toshiro Mifuni chin-scrath through the neckline. *hee*

I didn't know there was such a thing as kimono-pants, but for sure that's what the second one looks like. And I was about to say I'm reasonably sure all kimonos are supposed to be worn with a sash, but now I don't have to.

In the last picture, though, not only is he eating a Triscuit *and* tongue-in-cheek, apparently he is about to start juggling those three balls. Is that possible?

my pick

I love the expression on his face in the last picture. He looks like he's about to get into some major mischief.

actually the black and white one fits him perfectly. I just spent a year there. They are called yukata and are meant to be worn in the summer time. He is adorable in them!

Thanks for the info! Too bad it won't fit any more by next summer ... but he is definitely going to wear it this Halloween. :)

The first kimono is utterly gorgeous. I want one exactly like it in my size.
