baby lust

Coworker brought his four-week-old baby in today. I got to hold the little guy and everything. It'll probably be all day before I get my hormones to calm down. Ack! Me want one of those!

*sigh* Sometimes I think I just want to get laid. Other times I think I just want to have a baby. Either way, it ain't happening.

I used to think your baby lust a bit excessive, but now I have it too, and I can sympathize. On the one hand, I want one, but on the other hand, I like my life now, and a baby will probably turn it upside down. devafall says he's still too busy being a kid himself to be a parent, but he knows I want to have one around the time I'm 32, so there are a couple years left (but just a couple).

heh. My baby lust used to BE a bit excessive. Strangely, it's less now that I'm closer to being able to realize it (financially and emotionally). Maybe it was easier to obsess about it when I knew, deep down, that it was impossible.

Why 32? I sort of vaguely set 30 as my own personal deadline, but so much depends on my financial situation and all that.

It doesn't help, too, that there have been so damn many of 'em here at work. In a company of 145 employees, there have been at least a dozen babies born in the last six months. And at least four more due in the next few months. Insane.

Baby Boom

Part of it is the post-September 11 effect. There's a little baby boom on the way. My mom read a news article that calls them "Taliboomers."
