The Red Sox lost last night, but it was still a great game. I'm feeling pretty optimistic right now. Yay! Go Sox!

It turns out that the size-18 jeans I bought the other day are actually a bit big. Yesterday's pair kept falling down in a serious way. Today's pair isn't quite as bad but still loose. Still, the 16s were too tight, so I guess the reality is that I'm a size 17. Unfortunately, they don't make jeans in that size (and why would that be, again?) so I'll have to deal. I'm kind of hoping they'll shrink in the wash and then they'll fit just right.

I'm totally psyched because the check for $11,000 which I got from a relative FINALLY cleared and showed up in my online banking thingie. Whew! I was getting worried there because my balance was really low and I have some urgent bills to pay. So, yay. Now I can go buy my new used car, assuming I find one to buy, which is a whole nother post, sigh.

Date you joined: 2001-02-01

Number of journal entries: 1,364

Number of people on your friends list: 130, not counting communities. And some of them probably don't count because they're fake people or people who never post, etc....

Person who introduced you to LJ: [livejournal.com profile] tiggrrl

Still friends with this person: I sure hope so! :)

How many people have you introduced to LJ: A few. It's hard to say exactly. I contributed to the general weight of peer pressure. ;)

List everyone on your friends list who you have met in person: Wow, okay, here goes: anotherjen, azurelunatic, bearblue, cynthia1960, danamaree, darthfi, drglam, glamsith, hawkegirl, hawkeye7, jenwrites, ladyvyola, lasayla, lauristan, lightningrose, lunaris_, metafrantic, mishaslair, morgan_dhu, munoz, plaidder, psu_jedi, retch, rhondamatrix, roozle, sandykidd, skreeky, sorokin, sunspiral, techn0goddess, tiggrrl, ultraferret, watercolorblue, ww1614, xochiquetzl

Anyone on LJ you can't stand: Of course. But so what? It's not like you have to interact with them or anything. ;)

Name one person on your friends list you would most like to meet: Just one??? Yikes, okay, I guess I'll say [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch. No, wait, [livejournal.com profile] boniblithe. No, wait, [livejournal.com profile] devafall. Augh! I want to meet everyone! :)

Ever ban someone from commenting in your journal: I don't think so. I've deleted comments though.

Biggest pet peeve about LJ: You know, the usual. People who spam communities and then spam even more with their "oops, sorry to spam you!" posts because they're too stupid to figure out how to delete the posts. People who create unnecessary drama in communities. Oh, the sucky way that gmail handles LJ-comment emails is a big peeve too, but that's probably more a gmail peeve than an LJ one.

Do you feel close to most of the people on your friends list: A fair number of them. There are a lot of people on my flist whose journals I don't actually have time to read any more, but of those I do read, I do feel close to them!

How many journals on Live Journal do you have: Just the one. I keep thinking about creating one for Isaac, or a separate one for my mommy stuff, but it seems silly at this point. I mean, by now anyone who doesn't want to read about Isaac has probably long since stopped reading my journal already. :)

OK, gotta go drink a couple gallons of water. I'm so dehydrated lately.

sometimes they make 17s. I like the sears junior department they have stuff in plus sizes like 17, 19, 23... also see if you have a fashion bug around. they have great jeans.

hmmm

Can you find an inexpensive seamstress? (If you lived at all near my mother-in-law I would hook you up!) There's a lot of women who do alterations out of their home who could probably customize your jeans for like $5, if you know where to look. Sometimes they're attached to drycleaners; if the ad reads "and alterations" it might be worth a try.

(and I celebrate you for the fertility goddess that you are, BTW.)

When was it, and was it in Phoenix?

I've been out of Phoenix only a few times in the past four years -- to Guide Dog Aunt's, with Aunt-Fayoumis on a road trip to a family reunion, to Grandma's, to [livejournal.com profile] sithjawa's, and to Alaska. And I know I didn't do any conning then, and I haven't been to the East Coast since 1995...

I've had the odd mini-SACons locally, with [livejournal.com profile] othercat and Sithkitten, but not much otherwise.

No, it was in the Baltimore/D.C. area, and as to when, uh, I want to say spring of '01, but don't quote me.

I would swear you were there, but maybe I'm thinking of someone else. *scratch head*

That would be a no, then -- I haven't been on the East Coast since 1995.

It was probably someone else. How odd.

Freaking Sox. I swear by all that is holy, if the bats don't wake up on Friday, I'm driving up to Boston and personally kicking Johnny Damon's keister, Jesus locks be damned.

I have one word for you:

Belt.

Or I suppose you could go for the country-hick look and use suspenders. But that would be two words.

It's also the Senior DB Admin look. That, and typically a potbelly and a white beard (given the typical gender of a good 90% of senior DBAs...)
