The thing about me and driving somewhere I've never been before, is that I generally realize that I've made a wrong turn immediately or almost immediately. And I make a lot of wrong turns, because my driving style is aggressive even when I'm not sure where I'm going. I prefer to drive confidently and risk having to turn around and backtrack, over driving slowly and pissing off the drivers behind me. This approach usually works pretty well, except when you have to go a long way before an opportunity to turn around presents itself. Or when the traffic is really heavy. But I usually manage pretty well.

So tonight I went to a chocolate party hosted by people I didn't know, including [livejournal.com profile] teddywolf, and it was fun. There was much chocolate to eat (and drink) and many fellow geeks to chat with. I wore my "These aren't the breasts you're looking for" shirt, which I try to wear at every opportunity since I don't get many of them. Opportunities, that is. Anyway, the shirt is always a great ice-breaker. ;) It's always fun having a conversation about breasts with total strangers.

And I only took one or two wrong turns on the way -- actually took the wrong exits off a rotary, which is easy to do because rotaries can be very confusing, especially in the dark. On the way home I also got a little turned around due to the Target not being where I left it thought it was, but I got that straightened out pretty fast.

Oh, and since I titled this post "...and today" I should add that the first part of today involved going up to Andover for chorus rehearsal with mom and Isaac. It was fine, Isaac was generally well-behaved (although at times a bit disruptive because he doesn't really grasp this concept of "quiet") and we got a bit of good work done on the music. Which btw is Israel in Egypt by Handel, I don't think I've mentioned before; it's interesting because it's written from a Christian perspective (obviously; it's Handel) but it's really a Jewish story, the story of the plagues and Moses and Pharaoh and the Jews leaving Egypt. It basically begins with the Jews in slavery and ends around the Red Sea.

Anyway, after the lunch break they started on some other stuff and since Isaac was tired and mom isn't feeling well we decided to leave. We got home around 2pm, Isaac fell asleep in the car and we managed to transfer him to crib without waking him. Mom left and I lay down in my bed too and next thing I knew it was 5. Yay for long naps.

So that was today: singing, napping, and chocolate. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
