We got some free samples at the office of "Peet's" brand English Breakfast tea. EW!!! It's nasty! It seriously tastes like motor oil! (By which I mean, what I imagine motor oil would taste like, since of course I've never actually tasted it.)

One of my coworkers who sniffed the tea bag but didn't actually taste the tea, said that the smell reminded her of Earl Grey. So maybe that explains it. I hate Earl Grey as well. I guess it's the bergamot? I don't even know what that is. I just know it's icky.

I don't know how people can drink this crap. It's back to Bigelow for me. And of course my beloved PG Tips. Ah PG Tips, how I adore thee! My preciousssssss!

For whatever it's worth, bergamot is a citrus fruit. (I'm the opposite; my default cup of tea is Earl Grey [with milk and sugar], and I detest English Breakfast. I haven't tried Peet's version of either, though.)

I'm bi-tea. My Earl Grey is taken with sugar and lemon (mmmm, bergamot and lemon!) and my Darjeeling with sugar and milk. At the local tea shop (a tatty little place run by the British wives of British ex-pats who run a British auto repair), I take my PG Tips with milk and sugar, too.

Of course, my pot at home gets one Tetley, one Earl Grey, and one Benchley Apricot. Milk or sugar, depending on whim. And then there's the Honeydew White. And the Rosehip Hibiscus. And....
