I forgot to mention that while I was waiting for my photos at CVS, the little picture-printing kiosk started in on its little spiel (these machines are motion-sensitive and have a recorded voice telling all about how great the machine is and what you can do with it). It said, "Share and enjoy your digital photos with all your friends and family!"

Share and enjoy! "Did it really say that?" I asked myself. "And if so, where's my cup of tea?"

If you don't get the reference, you may not belong on my friends-list. ;)

But you wouldn't get tea. You'd get a substance almost completely, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

Yeah, but I was trying to keep the reference subtle. ;)

I can't help thinking that if it were a non-digital kiosk, it could spit out your photos from one chute, and a little dixie cup of photo developing fluids in another.

Share and enjoy!

Aw, that's awesome.

And likely intentional.

Given the nature of programmergeeks? Highly likely intentional, yes.

I don't know if I give the folks at Kodak that much credit.

Their marketing people, no.

But maybe a geek slipped something in and it was marketese enough to slip under the wire...

I read tHHGttG in French, so exact quotes don't necessarily ring a bell.

Really? How does "share and enjoy" translate?

I don't remember. It's been about ten years.

Well according to that flavor meme, I am a cup of tea! I don't know if I'm *your* cup of tea, though. ;-) Also, along sort of related lines, [livejournal.com profile] romandruid keeps telling me that she feels like Marvin the Robot.

Alas, I may not belong. But please keep me on your friends list anyway. I'm a good person and I did read "Hitchhiker's Guide"; it's just that I didn't like it and don't remember it well.

(The only reason I know "share and enjoy" is related to the "Hitchhiker's Guide" is that I read the comments from apparently more friends-list-belonging people.)
