mamajoanRandom observation: When you're all sweaty and flushed from too much exercise, a little cold water on the face feels SO good.
I walked to the library and back for the first time, pushing the stroller. It was a longer walk than I realized -- about 20 minutes there, 30 minutes back (because I was tired so I went slower). I am so out of shape, it's sad. Also, the library was a disappointment. First we got totally lost in the basement because I didn't realize the elevator had taken us to the basement instead of the main floor. Then we finally find the main floor, and they have all the sci-fi mixed in with the regular fiction! Not even a separate sci-fi section! How lame is that? And of course they didn't have any of the books I was looking for. I got a couple of other things that could be interesting though. Grump. Guess I'll have to try a different branch, and if that one's equally lame, it's back to the library of my childhood for me.
In other "checking out the neighborhood" news, last night I tried the Chinese restaurant that's a block away. It looks like a dive, the kind of place that makes really awful greasy food (and it failed several parts of my "how to find a good vegetarian Chinese restaurant" test which I posted here a while back), but it's so close I figured I might as well try it. I was pleasantly surprised. The dumplings were decent (with an interesting sauce too) and the veggie lo mein was quite good. The tofu with broccoli was pretty good too. Yay.
OK, time for some ice cream. I'm still overheated. Whew.
