Sorry for my downer post of yesterday, and thanks to all who replied with hugs and sympathy. Y'all are really great.

I can't resist doing the three questions meme: Ask me 3 questions. No more, no less. Ask me anything you want. Then go to your journal, copy and paste this, allowing your friends (including me) to ask you anything, too. I had to correct the grammar though. ;)

In happy news, I got over $900 unexpectedly deposited into my bank account as my reimbursement for the Dependent Care account. It's this thing where you can have money withheld from your paycheck pre-tax to pay for childcare. I knew it was coming, but I thought it was going to be about $600. Unexpected money is, of course, always nice. :)

The Red Sox game was rained out last night so mom and I just went out for dinner. Just as well; we wouldn't have been able to stay awake for a whole baseball game anyway. ;) Man, were we tired. It was a nice dinner though and nice to spend a couple hours away from our various responsibilities. I gave my mom a t-shirt that says "My grandkids are cuter than yours" with a funny little sticking-out-its-tongue face drawing.

More later.

1) Do you regret any choices from your youth or do you look back on those times with a sense of nostalgia?

2) Are you able to speak another language/languages? If not, and you could - which would you choose?

3) Bubble baths: For or Against?

1. Um, both? I can't think of a major choice that I really regret. I certainly did dumb or obnoxious things, but that's part of being young.

2. I can speak (really read) a bit of French and bits and pieces of other languages, but not really. I would love to learn German, just because I think it's interesting and sounds cool.

3. There are people who are against bubble baths???

1. What's so darn compelling about baseball, anyway?
2. What is the best thing about being a mom?
3. What is the worst thing about being a mom?

1. I find baseball interesting because the focus is so tightly on one or two players at a time. In football or basketball, everyone's moving around at once and it can be hard to follow, whereas baseball has a grace to the motions of pitching, hitting, running, throwing. Also, my theory is that it's easier to get into baseball than football or hockey because you can see the players' faces; and the players in basketball are freaks. ;) I dunno, it's hard to explain.

2. I would have to say the best thing about being a mom is just watching this little person develop and blossom in front of you. When he figures out new stuff and learns new skills, it's just so cool. And of course that special "my mommy just walked into the room" smile that no one else gets, can't be beat!

3. Definitely the sleep deprivation. You think you're expecting it, but you just can't be prepared for how much it'll drain you.

1) Where/how did you get the name "Chlaal?"

2) Have you ever fantasized about having a career different from your current one? If so, what?

3) If you could live anywhere in the world and money and proximity to friends and family were no object, where would you live?

1. It's interesting that you ask that, because I was just yesterday thinking of posting about it! The short answer is that it was my magical name when I was initiated into Wicca.

2. I've certainly fantasized about being a famous published author, but who hasn't? ;) I've also fantasized about coming up with a great new idea for a TV show/movie, and going to Hollywood to hand-pick the actors for it. ;) In a more practical/realistic sense, though, I'm pretty much settled in.

3. I'd like to say Hawaii but truthfully I think after a while I'd get bored with the endless perfection of weather ;) and the limited selection of things to do. I think my travels have shown me that Boston is really the place for me, and I'd still live here even if I won the lottery. Although, if all my friends and family moved to Hawaii.... ;)

1. Describe the cutest thing Isaac has ever done, if you can possibly choose only one thing. :)

2. What have you discovered about being a mom that you really didn't expect before you became one?

3. How's Bini?

1. Only one thing?! LOL! Well, there was this one time he literally fell asleep in mid-cry. He was fussing and fussing all day, and I was walking around holding him, and he just wouldn't relax. Then all of a sudden, in the middle of a cry, his head just dropped onto my chest and he was asleep. We couldn't believe it. It was too funny. And it never happened again!

2. I think I'm gonna have to go with the sleep deprivation again. You really just don't know how debilitating it can be until you're in it.

3. Bini is okay. He doesn't get nearly as much attention any more as he would like, unfortunately. He's also way overdue for his vet checkup. I've been trying to figure out how to manage the logistics of that.
