Happy 04/04/04!
Man, did we have an eventful weekend. It started off with a trip to the chocolate buffet at the Langham Hotel in Boston, moved on to the delightful barfing-baby portion of the program, and just for added spice, also included the discovery that cellphones don't take kindly to being put through the wash. D'oh.
Isaac only really barfed a few times, starting at 8pm Saturday night, but he was miserable all night. I'm guessing he probably still felt nauseated, plus dehydrated from the barfing, plus REALLY tired (he was fussy all day Saturday and didn't nap much). He kept waking up, crying a pitiful exhausted cry, and refusing to nurse. :( We fed him little sips of water and then he would nurse and sleep another hour or so and then repeat the whole process.
Thank Deity for my mom (and for this happening on a night when we were already planning to stay at her place). She spent like two hours from like 1 - 3 a.m. sitting on the couch holding Isaac because he was uncomfortable lying down.
Today he was better, but still tired and not hungry and not himself. If it's anything like the barfing bug that I had a couple weeks ago, he probably feels very weak now, and just needs time to recover, while keeping hydrated and keeping his blood sugar up. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be loads better. I'll be taking bland foods to daycare for him and telling them not to push him too much if he doesn't want to eat.
Oh, and on Friday night we learned that Isaac is anemic, but that's a whole nother post. sigh.
