I was muchly irritated this morning to log on to FedEx.com and see that my birthday chocolates spent the evening in Brockton, MA (approx. 30 miles from me) and then traveled to Hartford, CT (approx. 100 miles from me), where they spent the night and then departed at 6 a.m.

Yet it's 4 p.m. and still no chocolates. That's ten hours, people. Does it take ten hours to drive a hundred miles? I submit that it does not. Considering that these chocolates supposedly have a short shelf-life and are supposed to be consumed quickly, I'm not too sanguine about their condition if/when they finally arrive here.

I ordered the chocolates on Monday to be delivered Tuesday and it now looks unlikely that they will be delivered Wednesday. And I work from home Thursday and therefore will not in fact be at the location to which they are supposedly being delivered. Based on that, how much do you want to bet that they get delivered on Thursday? Anyone? Bueller?

Honestly, since my mom made me the cupcakes I'm not really so upset in the "I want yummy things and do not have them" sense. But in the "I am receiving poor service from a company that I trusted" sense, I am SUPER unhappy.

Guess I'll just sit here hitting "refresh" on the FedEx tracking page all night.......

You're kidding me, right? No freaking chocolates after you angsted over ordering them and paid extra for overnight delivery and still did not get a single word of support from the compant? WHO IS IT? I shall smite them with my mighty email of smitey-ness, and then spread word far and wide that their chocolates shall be henceforth forbidden and boycotted, and they will be left to wallow in despair, and die penniless and miserable, as they should.

I, uh, might have had too much caffeine, but dude, no chocolates! Not right in any way, shape or form!

It's Dan's, and it's sad because I really like them, they're a friendly little company that makes GREAT chocolate and gives a portion of each sale to charity. Which is part of why I'm so upset about the whole thing. I don't want them smited! At least, not till I find out how they're going to respond to my angry email....

I'd complain to the company you got them from. And consider calling your credit card company and having them reverse the charges. You paid for a perishable good at a specific time. The company you bought the chocolates from hasn't met the agreement... (check the fine print on the order if you don't want to be too mean, though the credit card company is likely to side with you regardless)

yeah, I'm not going to go to my credit card company until I find out what the chocolate company is gonna say, but it's definitely on my mind as an option.
