mamajoanI asked a coworker to look at the stroller wheel that wouldn't rotate, and it turned out that wheel had its brake on. Boy, did I ever feel stupid. ;P And I had checked the brake, really I had! D'oh. Ah well, it's my first day with this stroller. I'll get used to it eventually.
(Things to like about this stroller over my other one include: the handle can reverse so that baby is looking back at you or looking forward at the world; it has a cup-holder for mom as well as for baby; it stays folded when you fold it (which my other one used to do until my mom broke that bit); it has the little window in the canopy so you can see baby even when the sun-shade is up; it has a large and easily accessible basket underneath.)
In other update-y news, I finally called the daycare center to ask why I hadn't gotten the paperwork that they said they would mail "tomorrow" over a week ago, and they said that they were about to mail them "by the end of this week." BUT, AND, then they said that they have an opening sooner than expected, so Isaac can start on Dec. 2 instead of Jan. 13! (they actually offered me Nov. 25 but I thought it better to wait till after Thanksgiving)
I am super-excited about this, because I'm really looking forward to getting into a consistent routine. On the other hand, I feel bad for Anna, the sitter, because I had told her that I would want her through January and now I'm going to ditch her. And I don't want her to think it's a judgment on her, because she really has been great. It's just that I can't get past how nice it would/will be to have Isaac in a daycare center that's so close to the office, I can bop over at lunchtime to see him. Anyway, so I sent Anna a very apologetic email offering to be a reference for her and so forth. I hope she'll be okay with it. Anyone know anyone in the Boston area who's looking for a part-time nanny?
