* My main issue is that I've run out of steam and can no longer handle being on "mom duty" 24-7. I need to find childcare, and soon. I am working on this.

* Cutting out caffeine did not help Isaac's sleep/digestive issues. This is good because it means I can have caffeine again. ;)

* However, it's also bad because the next step is cutting out dairy, which is going to be VERY hard for me. Expect whining.

* My boss is great. I have options and must decide what I want to do. I am probably getting a raise, which will help with the (enormous!) expense of daycare. I have the option of working part-time for a while if I want to (and if I feel I can afford it). In any case, knowing that my boss is supportive is a huge load off my mind.

* My mom is also great, but her back pain prevents her from helping as much as she would like. Still, we would be lost without her.

That's the quick-o summary for now. Gotta go, baby's crying (as usual, sigh).

Oh honey, I so feel your pain. I know what it's like and thank god you have had your mom to help out some. When Joe was born, I had a C-section, so I was recovering from surgery, had PND like some kind of crazy lady AND - yay - there was the joy of colic. Oh and did I mention going back to work full time? Yeah, that's the stuff, baby!

We all survived. This too shall pass, and you and Isaac will BOTH sleep though an entire night. You'll read again. You'll get to take a shower that's longer than 30 seconds. There will be warm meals that you get to enjoy.

I swear. I promise. *hugs you both*

Condolences on the dairy...

I've become increasingly lactose intolerant over the last few years and I still bemoan the loss of cheese. If it does seem to help, you might consider trying goat cheeses, as the lactose is slightly different, and they melt a whole bunch better than the soy cheeses.

Otherwise... chin up! I know you can do it!

You don't know me, but I found you through the Babywearing yahoo group. Also, we have an LJ friend in common ([livejournal.com profile] ali_redux). I had to give up dairy for a few months because my son was reacting to it. If you are desperate for any particular substitutes I'd be happy to let you know what worked for us.

Good luck!
