I have seen part of the "Angel" season premiere, and it cracked my shit up! Hee! I may actually enjoy this season after all. If I get around to watching it, that is.

The Red Sox made the playoffs!! WOOHOO!!! Go Sox!!!!!!!!!!

There's a meme going around where you describe your birth. Since I've been working on Isaac's birth story for 3+ months now with no end in sight, might as well do mine instead. :)

I was three weeks late. My grandparents got tired of sitting by the phone in Cleveland and flew in. My mom wasn't supposed to be eating much (back then they told expectant moms not to eat as their due dates approached ... idiots!) but when her folks showed up she was like, "screw this," so they went out to a restaurant and had a huge dinner. An hour or two later, the contractions began. :) My mom was in labor about twelve hours and then I popped out. The hospital staff thought she was crazy for wanting me to sleep in her room rather than the nursery so she could breastfeed me. They generally thought she was crazy anyway, of course, being a single mother and not all "boo hoo, my man left me, poor little me."

How come I can do *my* birth story in one paragraph, but Isaac's makes War and Peace look like a Cliff's Note? ;) Speaking of which, happy Banned Books Week (a little late, so sue me). Read a banned book today! See [livejournal.com profile] xochiquetzl's LJ all this past week for suggestions. :) Also, happy Rosh Hashana and (according to my Cat Lovers Against The Bomb calendar) happy Cat Health Month. :)

Yesterday I went and had the police reinstall my carseat in my car. Long story short, I had been using my mom's car all this time because the carseat base in her car (installed by mom and a friend) felt secure but the one in mine (installed by me and mom) didn't. The cops have a program where they'll install your carseat for free, done by specially trained officers (a husband-and-wife cop team in this case). They were very nice and did a great job -- it doesn't wiggle hardly at all any more and I feel MUCH better about it. As does my mom, cuz she was wanting her car back, dammit. :)

And that's pretty much the news on this front. TGIF! :)

Ah, but your Red Sox have to get past my A's!

Over here on the Left Coast in the land of wacky recalls, we're checking our seismic safety because both the Giants and A's are in the playoffs again (please Goddess, no repeat of 1989 earth moving!).

Even though orange and black is seasonally appropriate, my highest loyalty is to the green and gold.

Let's go, Oakland! Let's go, Giants!
