My baby just drove off!

Today's my first attempt at working from home, and my mom came over and took Isaac off to her place so I can get some stuff done. (Isn't it lucky for me that mom doesn't work on Mondays?) Later, we have our first chorus rehearsal of the season (about which, see forthcoming gripe post) so I'll meet up with them again.

This will be the longest and the farthest I've ever been away from Isaac (not counting the times when he was in the hospital and I went to do stuff). Whoa. It's a little weird. Eek! My baby's gone!

*twitch*

What a cute new icon!! He's smiling already!

When I first read your post I thought the car had somehow started rolling away with him in it. Which would have sucked, obviously. ;-) I'm glad that instead you get some uninterrupted work time.

I guess the plus side is it's your mom, and not an unknown babysitter or something.

Oh yeah. We are definitely not ready for an unknown babysitter yet -- at least, not with that much physical distance between us. A babysitter in my apartment with him while I'm working, maybe. The 16-year-old girl who lives upstairs has offered to watch him after school, and I'd probably be okay with her taking him upstairs to her apartment ... after I've observed her with him for a while first to make sure I'm comfortable with her.

But don't even get me started on the whole daycare/alternative caregiver thing....
