Today is Day Two of bringing the baby to work, and I'm pretty worn out. Yesterday, after a shaky start (he cried a lot at first), it went pretty well, as he slept pretty much the whole day. (He slept so much I started to get worried! Heh.) Then near the end of the work day he got all alert and cute, and everyone wanted to hold him, and he chatted with them all. :) The CEO of the company held Isaac in his lap and made him do the Macarena. ;) Today, though, he seems crankier and harder to settle than yesterday. He won't even stay quiet in my arms/lap, let alone in his various other places (crib, stroller, floor).
I'm fairly sure he's just tired and needs to sleep but can't seem to fall fully asleep, or stay asleep once he gets there. But I'm also a little worried that he's drooling all of a sudden, which is the first symptom of teething. He's way too young to be teething, but still....
(Just now in the middle of typing this I had to get up and walk him around the room some more until he fell asleep. I put him back down in his stroller and he's still sleeping, at least for this particular thirty seconds....)
On the bright side, my coworkers are being *very* supportive. They're great. And I don't actually have much work to do yet, as I'm still getting back up to speed. I have a new boss, a woman, whom I met briefly but haven't really talked to yet -- she only just started last week so she's still getting up to speed too. The contractor who was filling in for me while I was away is still here, and there's some talk of hiring him as a permanent second tech writer. I think it's probably a good idea; there's probably enough work for two. There are also a whole bunch of other new people here, which is a little weird, but cool.
Anyway, I better take advantage of this possibly-brief sleeping time to go pee -- I'll type more later. :)
