Un-Birthday

Today is Isaac's official due date. :) We celebrated by lighting a candle stuck into a week-old Krispy Kreme donut and singing "Happy Un-Birthday To You." He slept through the whole thing so I blew out the candle for him. I don't know whether Isaac made a wish, but if he did, I bet it was for a little sister. ;)

Isaac now weighs nine pounds so I sure am glad he came out early. ;) The other night I dreamt that he was standing next to me and I noticed he was taller than me. I asked him how old he was and he said he was five, or maybe four, he wasn't sure. Truly, from the length of his torso and limbs, I'm convinced he's going to be pretty tall. Maybe even taller than his Uncle Bart who's 6'3".

At some point I want to write a post about my mixed feelings about Isaac, but it'll have to wait since right now I'm typing with one hand and holding him to my boob with the other. I also will finish writing, and post, his birth story Any Day Now(tm).

Just a fly by note of congratulations to you. Your son is beautiful, healthy and obviously a delight. I look forward to seeing the post all about your experiences so far. And wow, have you been missed, even if it is for most excellent reasons. *hugs you*
