Jun. 8th, 2003 02:19 pmThe bad news is, I won't be updating LiveJournal for a while. The good (or possibly also bad) news is, it seems like I'm also having a baby. I'm at 34 weeks, which is on the early side, but not dangerously so. I was having contractions and I came to the hospital, and I was partially dilated (2-3 cm) and fully effaced. They're giving me drugs to mature the baby's lungs, and drugs to slow down the labor until the lung-maturing drugs can do their thing, after which I'll probably be having the baby.
So apparently this baby wants to be a gemini instead of a cancer; I'm not sure what I should be thinking about that.
Further updates as events warrant. You can email me, but I don't know when I'll be seeing it. But feel free to email me.

Note from Jen: Joan didn't mention her choice of LJ "mood" to me, so I'm going to guess.
Later note from Joan: "Stark raving terrified" would have been more accurate...

Date: 2003-06-08 08:48 pm (UTC)All I can say is...
Date: 2003-06-08 09:34 pm (UTC)1) You worried about going to Worldcon too soon after Chickpea's birth. Now, no problem.
2) You said, "Okay, enough with this pregnancy. Give me my baby already!" or words to that effect. Ask and you shall receive.
3) You posted an April Fool's joke saying that you were carrying twins. Now you discover that yup, in an unexpected way that's going to come true too.
Boy, had you ever better watch what you say. :-)
Congratulations on getting your wishes, anyway, and here's hoping for an uneventful birth.
