interview

The interview seemed to go well. I think I have a pretty good rapport with the hiring manager, and the other people I met seemed cool too (although one of them didn't seem quite sure what he wanted to ask or why he was interviewing me or whatever. That's okay; I can remember feeling the same way when I was on the other side).

They hope to make a decision by early next week so we'll just see what happens.

Not much else to say right now. I'm just really tired today for no apparent reason. Think I'll go "rest my eyes" until mom brings Isaac back.

comparisons and other kid stuff

It's amazing -- from the nose down they are, like, identical! But they have such different eyes. Isaac has gorgeous long lashes; everyone comments on them. Ruthie's lashes are not nearly as remarkable, but people always comment on her big blue eyes. Unfortunately the lovely color of her eyes never seems to photograph well. :(

I found the above pix yesterday when I went looking at old pictures of Isaac, mainly because I was curious about eye color. Ruthie's eyes are still blue and I couldn't remember when Isaac's eyes changed. Well, it's hard to be sure from the pix, but it sure looks like Isaac's eyes were already brown by the time he was 9 months old. I really wonder whether Ruthie's eyes are going to stay blue forever. It seems so unlikely and yet...!

A week or so ago, I wrote a long "state of the kids" post here, about all the things they are doing lately. Of course I forgot to mention one of Ruthie's other favorite new skills: pointing. She isn't quite sure what it means yet, but she loves doing it. She points at everything. :) As of today she's also nodding her head, although, again, she doesn't really get what it "means."

Today while Ruthie was with the babysitter, before I headed off to my interview, I pumped my boobs. Hadn't actually done that in quite a while. I was pretty surprised to get about 6 ounces in about 5 minutes. Yow! This sentence shall serve as a placeholder for a longer musing about whether I'm going to resume pumping when I go back to work.
