and away we go
Jul. 30th, 2005 03:53 pmI found Isaac's birth certificate, yay. Oh, I knew it would turn up; I just wasn't sure whether it would have the courtesy to do so BEFORE we needed it for our trip next week. ;) In the true way of things, I actually found it while looking for something else. I'm sure there's a corollary of Murphy's Law that covers that situation.
I found it in an envelope with our plane tickets from when we went to Toronto for Worldcon two years ago. Also in the envelope, my passport. D'oh! Guess I haven't needed that in two years. But my mom has this paranoia about passports: you should always know where yours is, in case you need to flee the country unexpectedly. No, she isn't kidding. She really means it. Everyone's mom has their little quirks, n'est-ce pas? Anyway, maybe it's time to get an Important Papers Box. I'll put a towel in there too, just so I'll know.
And on that note, we're off to the cottage in a little while. Did I mention that I'm taking all of next week off work? Well, I am, and therefore we're staying at the cottage through Monday night. Because We Can! :) So I'll see you all in a couple of days.
