Well, I managed to survive yesterday. I mostly sat around staring blankly while Isaac played by himself. *sigh* What did I ever do to deserve such a good kid who can entertain himself so well? He only made a little mess with the juice all over the floor, and I can't even blame him for that. I can't seem to make myself remember that things aren't safe from him on the highchair tray any more.

My mom offered to take him overnight, i.e., me drop him off at her place and come back to my place for the night. I was sorely tempted, but it's a big step and I couldn't commit. So instead we settled on a compromise whereby I slept in her bed (several rooms away from the room where the crib is) and she took care of Isaac all night. Except, there was no taking care of to do, because the little stinker slept through the damn night. Argh!!! What did I ever do to deserve such an ornery kid? *g* Anyway, I woke numerous times and had a lot of bizarre dreams, but I still slept a lot better than I would have if I'd been "in charge."

Then it was morning and our sainted babysitter came and took Isaac away and now I'm at my place with a couple hours to myself before I have to go get him. I said to my mom, "okay, I'm going to go home and, I dunno." Mom: "Do stuff?" Me: "Yeah, doing stuff would be one option." I think I'm actually going to go with the not doing stuff option though. My grandiose plans are to take a shower and top off my waterbed. If I'm feeling really ambitious maybe I'll even do a little cleaning and/or laundry. Whee!

In closing, I leave you with this picture of Isaac assisting with the post-Thanksgiving cleanup:

I accomplished my three main goals while Isaac was with his babysitter, to wit: took a shower, added water to the waterbed, and located my stock certificate from my old job. (That company, I believe I've mentioned, is getting bought out and I have to send in the certificate in order to get my cash. Woohoo! Cash!)

So I did all that, and then the babysitter called to say that he had fallen asleep and I should wait another couple of hours. Woohoo! So I spent another couple of hours, uh, goofing off. ;)

Then I picked up Isaac from the babysitter and we went to Target and accomplished my two main goals for that, namely, getting Isaac some more socks (note to self: open the package and make sure they're going to fit) and getting us a new toaster oven. Our old one is REALLY old and lately when I've tried to use the oven part, it won't stay on unless I hold the button down. Needless to say, this is unacceptable. So I got a new one for only $30 and life is good. (I also spent too much on cute new sweaters for Isaac. But they're cute! And they're sweaters! And did I mention cute!)

Anyway, so all in all it was a pretty productive day, especially for a Sunday on the last day of a 4-day weekend. Yay.

In closing, a meme from [livejournal.com profile] ladyvyola (I've just corrected the grammar, because I'm a geek):
If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend, and whom you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.
There are a lot of people reading this to whom this applies, most notably [livejournal.com profile] ww1614, [livejournal.com profile] plaidder, and [livejournal.com profile] techn0goddess. <3
