Wow, apparently no one "up there" was listening when I said that I had had enough "interesting" in my life and would like this week to be nice and boring. Yeesh.

Last night I got a flat tire. Not a dramatic blow-out-on-the-highway-almost-die thing, just a "notice it's a little low in the morning, and a lot more low in the evening" thing. I put air in it and crossed my fingers. No such luck; this morning it was flat again. I drove it to the nearest service station and forked over $100 to have them put a new tire on. sigh. It was pouring rain, which made it really easy to identify the problem: i.e., the place where the water was bubbling on the tire as the air whooshed by. Yeah, that's one dead tire.

As if that weren't enough excitement, here's the Bad/Good summary of other recent events:

Bad: Got home from chorus rehearsal and my babysitter told me that Bini (cat) had peed on the floor in the hallway again.
Good: Babysitter cleaned it all up. (BEST BABYSITTER EVER!)
Bad: this meant that I didn't get the chance to "collect" some of it to give to the vet to test. Still hadn't gotten around to acquiring a urine sample for them.
Good: Discovered this morning that babysitter had missed a spot and there was enough of a "puddle" left for me to suck some of it up with a syringe thingie and take it to the vet.
Bad: The "puddle" was underneath a paper bag containing chocolate. :(
Good: Luckily I already had the flat tire as an excuse for being late, so I had the time to collect the urine sample and then clean up the rest of it and (after getting tire replaced) drive to the vet.
Bad: Quite difficult to suction up cat piss off the floor while keeping very interested and curious baby at bay.
Good: Managed to keep Isaac from interacting with any cat piss.
Bad: Got a bit snappish at Isaac. :(
Good: Isaac in good spirits when we finally arrived at daycare.
Bad: Poopy diaper had leaked onto clothes, necessitating a change out of his cute Baby Gap shirt.
Good: at least he didn't cry when I left. snif.

I have SO got to get me another car. And figure out wtf is up with this cat. And now apparently I need some new chocolate. :(

I forgot to mention that I got Isaac a gmail account. I had all these invites sitting around that I didn't know what to do with. Now I just have to try to remember to log in periodically to keep it active. And maybe some day he can actually use it! Hmm, should I get him a livejournal too?

[livejournal.com profile] _nepthys_ had a great idea for using a gmail account as sort of a file server for mp3s/vids/episodes/etc. -- I'm thinking it would work as a fanfic archive too. People could "upload" their stories simply by emailing them to the address, and could read the stories by logging in. Of course, I'm not really involved with fandom any more so I'm not actually going to set that up, but if anyone wants to do it, I'll donate an invite to the cause.

*ponders other interesting nonstandards uses for gmail*
