My baby just drove off!
Today's my first attempt at working from home, and my mom came over and took Isaac off to her place so I can get some stuff done. (Isn't it lucky for me that mom doesn't work on Mondays?) Later, we have our first chorus rehearsal of the season (about which, see forthcoming gripe post) so I'll meet up with them again.
This will be the longest and the farthest I've ever been away from Isaac (not counting the times when he was in the hospital and I went to do stuff). Whoa. It's a little weird. Eek! My baby's gone!

I'm not bitter
Sep. 8th, 2003 04:14 pmFor fourteen or fifteen years, since mom and I first helped get our community chorus started, it has ALWAYS rehearsed on Tuesday nights. It was set in stone, immutable, inevitable. I frequently bitched about this, because it made watching BTVS so difficult. Rush home after chorus and watch Buffy, missing post-rehearsal dinners with chorus buddies? Go out to dinner, then go home and watch Buffy, guaranteeing super-tiredness at work the next day? Go out to dinner and then go home and to bed, meaning I had to wait a whole extra day to participate in post-episode discussions? There simply was no good solution, and it was irritating.
My mom also didn't like rehearsing on Tuesday nights because Tuesday are stressful work-days for her. We used to bitch to each other about how much it sucked and think wistfully of how much we'd like to convince our conductor to change the rehearsal days -- an event which, we sadly concluded, was about as likely as Frosty setting up shop in hell. And we weren't the only ones -- lots of other people would always complain that Tuesdays were inconvenient for them. Yet, it seemed, Tuesday was and would be rehearsal night for all eternity.
So what happens? BTVS comes to an end, and THEN they change chorus rehearsal night to Monday! Augh!!!!
But I'm not bitter or anything. Nope. Not me. *grump, pout*
(On the bright side, we're doing Mozart's Requiem this season, one of my favorite pieces. Or, as we music-history geeks like to call it, "The Mostly Mozart Requiem." Bwahaha! We crack us up!)
