a birthday of sorts

Isaac is officially one month old today. Wow!! I can't believe how fast it has flown by. He got weighed today and now weighs eight pounds and three-quarters of an ounce, which means he has gained more than 2.5 pounds since he was born. He is doing great! He has really filled out in the face and tummy, and feels much heftier. He is also longer; he used to look teeny in the bassinet and now he almost fills it!!

He still has "issues" (ahem) with sleeping and eating. Late at night he cries and cries, refuses to sleep, and eats a lot. In the morning he is an angel, sleeping a lot and only eating occasionally. In the early/mid-afternoon he starts to get cranky again. The pediatrician says this is pretty normal, alas. *sigh* Oh well. At least he's cute. ;)

Last night we went to a party for a cousin of ours who is going off to college (which makes me feel old, on account of I used to change her diapers). Our pediatrician was at the party, because she works with the cousin's dad (also a pediatrician). I accidentally left my purse at the party, so our doctor just brought it to work and we retrieved it at today's appointment. LOL! Sometimes a small world is a *good* thing. :)

We have lots more pix, since Isaac looks very different now from when the last ones were taken. I'll try to get them online soon.
