I've been having a lot of "what [insert BTVS character here] will do next" plot bunnies. It's interesting to contemplate. ( mild finale spoilage ) These are the things about which I fret in the dark of night. *g*
I've also been pondering my reactions to the finale, and some thoughts on that are probably forthcoming at some point.
Last night I watched the SNL season finale with Dan Ayckroyd(sp??) as host. It was fairly lame and I FF'd a lot. Perhaps the funniest bit was when they did an entire sketch just to set up a really dumb (but funny ... in a dumb way) joke about the new NYC smoking ban.
I also watched the rerun of "The Daily Show" with guest Paul Rudd. I love Paul Rudd; have had a thing for him ever since "Clueless." He and Jon Stewart are apparently buddies, and it's quite funny watching them interact. I rewound several times to re-watch the part where Jon tells the audience, "Paul Rudd, by the way, is a tremendous fellow..." and Paul does a massive spit-take. LOL!
Speaking of LOL, things that normally would just make me chuckle quietly have made me burst into helpless laughter lately -- even things I've seen a zillion times. I attribute this to being overly tired all the time. The above Paul Rudd bit is one example. Also, I was watching the FX Buffy rerun of "Something Blue," an episode I've seen many a time because I highly enjoy it, and I totally lost it at the bit where Buffy says (re Willow) "we've got to find her before someone really gets hurt" and then Giles falls over. And that's never even struck me as the funniest part of the episode, and yet, last night, it just cracked my shit up. I really need to start getting more sleep. ;)
Isn't it funny how some scientific studies can make you go "duh" and shake your head in amazement that anyone needed a study to tell them this, whereas others can just wow you with their coolness? As an example of the former, I read a study recently that showed that emotional stress in pregnant women is bad for their babies. (All together now: DUH!) And then there's this study, which goes to new lengths to show that a baby recognizes his/her mother's voice even while still in the womb. Very cool.
And finally, just to round out what is already a nicely random miscellaneous post, ( the Friday Five! )
Heh, I am so random today. There really should be a "random" LJ mood. :)
