I am so boring lately! I suck.
The cookie party went well, as always. Lots of my friends never see each other except at this event, so it's a good thing we do it. ;) Upon reflection, I'm pretty sure I've been doing it for a whopping ten years now (it all started during college as a way to reconnect with high-school friends over Xmas break) and that makes me feel old. So, so old.
Uh, but anyway, it went well. This year, for the first time, we had penis-shaped cookie cutters. (Also one pair of breasts but they didn't really look like breasts unless you *really* used your imagination.) They were very popular, and people got pretty creative with them. ;) Well, mostly the chicks. The men in attendance seemed to be steering away from the penises, generally speaking.
Afterward, I was soooo tired. Then my mom had a houseguest showing up (did I mention we hold the cookie party at my mom's? Because my kitchen is too small and anyway mom is centrally located) so we took her out to dinner and then I ended up crashing at mom's place.
Sunday, I did a lot of stupid shopping (defined as, shopping that you do when you're too tired/not well-fed enough/not in the mood). I did okay at the thrift shop, getting seven sweaters, a hat, and a jacket for a total of $38, but then I spent a bunch of time at Target looking at stuff and trying stuff on and ended up not buying anything. I also collected a pile of DVDs to buy and ended up not buying any of them either. Yeesh.
Then I went grocery shopping and got even MORE stupid. I violated the First Law of Shopping ("Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach") in most heinous of ways. I bought a bunch of stuff that not only don't I need, I don't even know what possessed me to buy it. Sigh. Well, at least a lot of it was fruit and relatively little of it was junk-food.
Then I went home and went to bed and now I'm at work again. See? What did I tell ya? Boring.
I still haven't watched the last "Buffy" episode and there's a new one tomorrow night. I guess I know what I have to do tonight. Woe! The hardship! ;)
