Weekend Recap
Mar. 9th, 2003 11:52 pmSaturday: Slept late, goofed off, went to party with mom. Hawaii-themed party hosted by a chorus member who was on the Japan/Hawaii trip with us. Fun, but tiring. My stomach was being tetchy so I couldn't eat as much as I wanted to. Wah.
Sunday: Went to Chocolate Fools Day. At first looked like it was going to be a disappointment (not as many tables as previous years), but then got better. Ended up with three tupperware containers full of chocolate -- possibly the biggest haul ever. Went to see "Shanghai Knights" with friends. (Was surprised to discover that it was written by Gough&Miller, the "Smallville" writing team.) Went back to mom's place, ended up watching "One Hour Photo" with her.
Movies in a nutshell:
"Shanghai Knights": dumb, but funny. Jackie Chan roolz.
"One Hour Photo: Yikes. *hides under desk* May have nightmares tonight.
And that's basically my weekend.

Date: 2003-03-09 10:02 pm (UTC)And I have issues about fantasizing anyway. The whole crossing over thing... it's the reason I never fantasize about "real" people. Or only the ones who have give me explicit permission to "go for it," like my lovers in specific circumstances. I never wanted to assume. But...I've always known I had the potential to be a stalker because my social skills aren't always high on the mark, but that realization has just made me work harder at it. I went for transparency and compassionate interaction instead.
I hope you sleep well tonight. *offers you pillows and blankets for under the desk. You might as well be comfortable*

Date: 2003-03-10 09:09 am (UTC)well, maybe if you had stuck it out toward the end, you might have found more sympathy for the guy once you heard/saw the final plot twists in the last scene.
He definitely crossed a major line and it was scary and creepy. We get to see how crazy he goes when his fantasy-perfect family turns out not to be so perfect. You have to feel bad for him, but also shudder at how far he takes the wrong turn.
And I totally agree with you on the fantasizing about real people ... it crosses a line. I still think you and I are both very very far away from this guy's behavior, though! *hugs*
