In a very different vein from yesterday's music post *g*, I now must squee over the fact that my copy of Moxy Früvous's "Live Noise" CD arrived yesterday. Yay! At last I can listen to The Lowest Highest Point and the Intra-Pennsylvania Rivalry and the Kirk King Intro to my heart's content! And also, you know, the actual *songs* on the album too. ;)

Back when I used to dream about my OWN sex life (*glares at [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch*), I once dreamt about having sex with one of the members of Moxy Früvous. (Jian, of course.) On the lawn during a music festival. Why can't I still have dreams like that? Hmf. Nowadays all I dream about mostly is being Buffy and being yelled at by Giles. Although there was that bit the other night where I got to make out with Spike.

BID. :)

Other people dream about having sex with Jian on the grass?

Wow.

:) I still love "Lowest Highest Point" the best, even though they give the wrong answer!

But it wasn't their fault! It was the Trivial Pursuit company's fault! (As an aside, while playing TP with the friend who got me hooked on Fru, we got that card. She wouldn't use it, despite the fact that our rules clearly state: All questions must be asked, no matter how fannish they relate to us. And of course, the very next question I had to ask her was "Who is Superman's nemisis?" or something like that.)

I absolutely adore The King of Spain: Angry Monarch version. And Fly. And Michigan Militia. Oh man, must listen to it now... Curses my being at work.

I know, but it makes it that much harder to try to explain the appeal of the "song" to non-fruhead friends! Especially geek friends whose first impulse is to go look up the right answer on the web. ;)

Anyway, it *is* their fault that they say the wrong state for Mt. Washington. ;) But I love them anyway.

Mt. Washington isn't if Fuckin' Maine? World...askew... ;)

This'll teach me to rely on a non-date Canadian band for US Geography lessons *g*

Wow.

Statistically speaking, there are WAY too many fruheads on LJ.

And former ones, I suppose. I fear I may have outgrown the boys.

Though Laika is still one of my fave's. And the live "Fly" on Live Noise, mmm.

Awww. I hope I never outgrow Moxy. That would be sad.

It IS sad. I'm not saying, "well, I'm 31 now and have to listen to more serious music," but I don't know, I don't listen to much They Might Be Giants or BNL that much either anymore. (Though, truth be told, Nate, now 15 1/2 months, really seems to like TMBG, so that's not entirely true.)

Rhonda and I were at a NYC bar with a great jukebox (Barrow Street Alehouse) a few weeks ago, and we put a lot of money into it, and we noticed King of Spain was on a disc in there, so we played it, and we sung along and had a great time and all that, and I'm playing Laika right this second, actually, but I don't know, I don't find myself pulling up King of Spain very often when I'm in the office. I also haven't seen them since, jeez, I think it was a show at Maxwell's in Hoboken, and I don't want to swear to it, but I think it might have been 1999.

I don't know. I still like them just fine, and think their songs are as great as I ever did...but I don't see myself going to a frucon ever, either.

Sigh. I'm feeling really old today.
