more rally pix
Feb. 20th, 2003 11:49 amHere are some more pictures from last Saturday's peace rally in NYC. As before, I'm just posting links because the pix are so large.
Me holding my sign. Here you can see what it says on the other side of the sign; you saw the first side in the picture of me with
blunaris that I posted a couple days ago.
An impressive wall of police officers
A nice crowd shot
Another nice crowd shot
BTW, you may notice me and many of the other marchers wearing bright purple hats. These were being passed out by SEIU Local 1199, -- SEIU is the Service Employees' International Union, and Local 1199 is the New York health-care workers' branch of the union. They were handing out the free hats and yelling "Money for health care, not for war!" and insisting that anyone who took a free hat put it on immediately. Partly for advertisement, partly to keep people warm so they wouldn't have to visit a health-care worker. :)
In addition, the following bonus not-rally-related picture: my mom's car (at least, so she claims) after this week's big snowstorm. :)
