snarkus interruptus
Feb. 12th, 2003 02:03 pmGrump.
I just composed a little, I think humorous (but also expletive-filled) post in which I bitched out an eBay seller. But before I could post it, I got a second email from him that negated the problem. So, never mind. So now I'm annoyed because I wrote my snarky post for naught. :)
Let's see, on what else can I expend that snark? I know, how about on all of y'all who haven't given me links for Angel/Wes slash like I requested yesterday? ;) Nah, that won't do it. Sigh. I guess I'll have to snark about not having anything to snark about. ;)

Date: 2003-02-12 12:30 pm (UTC)Anyway, all that happened was he emailed me after I had won the auction to say "by the way, please don't use paypal, I just found out they charge a fee." I was all, firstly, what do you mean you just found out? they've charged fees for ages, and secondly, the item description said you'd accept paypal so you darn well oughta accept paypal dammit.
But I said that to him, slightly more politely, and he backed off and said I could paypal him after all. so, all's well that ends well.

Date: 2003-02-12 01:02 pm (UTC)A good recs page is Wesleysgirl's page, which gives recs for any number of Jossverse pairings. Link: http://home.attbi.com/~wesleysgirl/Recs/JossversebyPairing.html
Of the stories she mentions, I particularly like the Epiphany series by The Brat Queen. It's ongoing, schmoopy, and angsty. But if you want to avoid the WIP-nature of things, you can just read the finished arcs, all of which have nice resolved endings, as I recall.
Another, completely different, story that she recs and I enjoyed is "The Long Term" by Helen Raven. It's a spooky piece about the conjunction of emotional distance and sexual obsession, and has a pretty unusual reading of Wesley. It's pretty dark, so don't read it if you're looking to be cheered up.
