mamajoanI tried to read all the way back on my friends-list, really I did. Just... Too... Tired. wah.
I feel guilty about not having gone to the peace rally in D.C., despite knowing that rationally speaking I wouldn't have survived it. The bus ride would have wiped me out all on its own, and that's not even addressing all that walking around...! Even if the temps *hadn't* been in the teens, the whole thing would just have killed me. Hell, I was worn out after walking five blocks this afternoon. Whine, whine. I'll redeem myself on Feb. 15th when there's another big rally planned for NYC.
On the plus side, *finally* saw The Two Towers with my mom. After we've only been swearing we're going to see it for, what, four weeks now? I thought (speaking as a complete non-Tolkein fan, never read anything of his except The Hobbit) it was pretty good, possibly more so than the first one. Much of the CGI was better, if nothing else. The movement of plot through the first two movies reminds me of same through the first two of the "Star Wars" trilogy, the main difference being that "A New Hope" resolves fairly neatly at the end whereas "Fellowship" leaves you very definitely hanging. But other than that. Yeah.
Was also pretty sure I saw Karl Urban in the movie, and gave a crow of triumph when his name popped up in the credits to confirm. ;) I'm such a geek.
Damn, is it cold. Dude. I mean. It's fuckin' cold, man.
Oh yeah, and I looked at an apartment for rent today. It was too small, and I'm really bummin' about that, because it's in a location and for a price that just honestly can't be believed. It makes me wish I knew someone who's looking for a modest-sized apartment so I could steer them toward it.
I think I OD'd on popcorn. I so have to go to bed now. Urgh.
