I hate winter
Jan. 8th, 2003 03:07 pmI know it sounds weird from someone who's lived in cold places almost her whole life, and who in fact left Atlanta to move *back* to New England, but: I hate winter. I hate cold, and I hate snow.
Well, okay, I don't really hate snow. I like it when it's all pretty and picturesque, i.e., when I don't have to do anything about it. What I hate is when I have to clear it off my car, and drive on/in it. Right now, I've had to brush snow off my car something like four mornings in a row, plus almost every evening before I can leave work. This is really getting old. If there *must* be snow, can't it at least be more spread-out? Say, once every week or two.
And what I really hate is being cold. I'm one of the few people I know who'll answer that personality question "would you rather be too hot or too cold?" by saying too hot. Almost everyone says cold and as their rationale they say, "at least when you're cold you can put on more clothes." To which I respond, yeah, and then you're too cold with more clothes on! I much prefer being hot. I can be cold even when everyone else is broiling, so maybe I just have poor circulation or something. Lately it seems like I'm always cold in my apartment, even when I crank the heat way up. I may need to get a space heater.
So anyway, my overall point is, I'm ready for spring. ;) What do you MEAN it's not March yet???

Date: 2003-01-08 11:56 pm (UTC)snow on the other hand, *is* very pretty, as long as it's not driven in or walked in, and one can view it from the nice and cozy comfort of a fire-heated room ;-)
*watching the sunset get later and later every night, and praying for spring*
