Firefly math

Okay, this confuses me. Here's a quote from an article on scifi.com about Firefly:

Fox has ordered two more episodes of its struggling SF series Firefly from creator Joss Whedon (UPN's Buffy the Vampire Slayer), raising its season total to 15, the trade paper reported. Fox had already ordered up six scripts beyond the initial order of 13 episodes.

Am I reading this wrong, or what? By my math, that adds up to a total of 21 episodes. The original 13, then another 6, then another 2. What am I missing? *scratch head*

Ordering a script isn't the same as ordering an episode. I have been told that the additional script order is a good sign--it means the network wants to see where the series is going. And I think it was probably based (in part) on those scripts that the two additional epsiodes were ordered.

ahh, you know, as I was posting it I *thought* that maybe the fact that they said "episodes" and then "scripts" was significant. OK, thanks for clearing that up. :)
