There was a lot that I wanted to say today about, like, stuff, but none of it is coalescing in any coherent way.

I had a weird dream where I was fighting Hercules (the Kevin Sorbo version) in an old castle on a hill, and then it turned into a grocery store and I was fighting Buffy and the Scoobies. It came about that I could incapacitate the Scoobies by brushing their faces with the salt from pistachio nuts. Hey, I told you it was weird. I've been having a lot of such weird dreams lately, including one last night that involved Tahiti and possibly-poisonous frogs.

I finally finished reading Casting Fortune by John M. Ford. I found it unsatisfying. The setup was elaborate, the denouement less so, and I didn't feel as much suspense as I think the author intended me to. Ah well, anyway, next I tackle Harry Potter 2, as I want to read it before I see the movie. Hopefully it won't take me too long to read.

I downloaded and printed out a list of vegetarian restaurants in Tokyo, thanks to a post on [livejournal.com profile] vegetarian a while back. I have to go hunt down the post, though, because it also talked about how to say "is this vegetarian" in Japanese, and such. I gotta memorize that. :) I also need to acquire a second suitcase soon. I looked at them while I was at Target the other day, but I couldn't commit.

I can't believe it's only a week and a half till Thanksgiving, and only three weeks till we leave for Japan! How time flies! I really want to trial-run the casserole I'm planning to make for Thanksgiving dinner. I bought a casserole dish at Target, so now I just have to get the rest of the ingredients. I think I have most of them. I also have to figure out the vacation-time situation. I think I have about 8.75 days, and I need 10 for Japan, so I have to talk to my boss about it.

(Yes, I shop at Target. I'm not ashamed of it. I know it's just a slightly more upscale K-Mart, but I like their stuff and I'm totally excited that they're finally opening Targets in my area. Although I didn't care for the cashier guy who gave me attitude.)

Do like the rest of us and call it "Tar-zhay" in a sort of pseudo-French accent to show that you know it's just an upscale K-Mart, and that you can laugh off any associated stigma while picking up some cool dishes for a reasonable price.

Oh, I do that, definitely! Everyone I know who shops there calls it that. :)

It's dangerous too. I love looking at their bathroom sets. They have a really nice set with bath mat, shower curtain, soap dish, toothbrush holder, trashcan, etc. all in the same pattern. I covet it. I find myself thinking, "wow, wouldn't it be COOL if all my bathroom stuff matched??" But then I firmly remind myself that I never cared before that it didn't match, and I don't really care now either.

Still, if I had a small financial windfall, I'd probably spend a good chunk of it at Tar-zhay. ;) (If I won the lottery, on the other hand, it would all be Williams-Sonoma and Sharper Image!!)
