I don't really have anything to say about the "Angel" season premiere. It had good moments and sucky moments. At least one of the good moments was something I had already been (voluntarily) spoiled on. Overall it was decent; but the preview for next week made me want to run screaming. Attack of the Mary Sues! Augh!
I won a couple of auctions on eBay for books by Lois McMaster Bujold. I thought that I had an almost-complete collection of her books, but I can't seem to find any of the earlier ones! :( I can't figure out whether a) they all somehow disappeared in one of my moves, b) they're all hiding in a box somewhere, either at my place or my mom's, c) my brother made off with 'em, or d) I never actually had them at all, only borrowed them from Jessie a lot. :( Anyway, so I'm trying to buy original (i.e. not re-issued) copies of all her earlier works. It doesn't help that I keep getting confused about which ones I do and don't have. I should just make a frickin' list already.
I can't remember whether I mentioned that I finished reading Connie Willis's first book, Lincoln's Dreams. I liked it a LOT. It was what Passage was trying to be, only with a satisfying ending, which Passage lacked (imo). It's too bad that I hadn't yet read Lincoln's Dreams when I was discussing Passage with
jmtorres.
I also finished Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams, which was cute but not terribly memorable. Now I'm working on A Fire in the Deep by Vernor Vinge.
Now, back to fretting about what to wear for my Jeopardy tryout on Thursday.
