Birthdays!

mamajoanSome birthdays went by and as usual I neglected to note them here! So I shall be making some backdated posts, so try not to be too confused if they show up in your feed.
I turned 40 two weeks ago and did some of the apparently requisite soul-searching (or should I say navel-gazing). That was exciting. The fam kindly spoiled me with some great gifts and it was a nice weekend.
Ruthie turned 8 last week and I think she had a good birthday also. Her party was the day before and went really well -- good friends, good fun, good presents. Her birthday day was a school day but she got to celebrate at school (we brought in Munchkins for the class, and the vice principal has a thing where he comes into your classroom with a boombox and plays you a happy birthday song) and then we went out for dinner in the evening. So that was good times. :)
