More kid tidbits

Isaac tonight: "You know, if it's 6:55, then it's ten minutes to 7:05. Because it's five minutes to 7, and then five minutes to 7:05. And five plus five is ten. So the game starts in ten minutes."

Things I have explained today: what a seeing-eye dog is; what sage is used for; what Yom Kippur is; why plastic shopping bags say "thank you" on them. Whew. This five-year-old stuff sure is taxing on the mama-brain. (Other recent explanations requested by Isaac include "how do your eyes help you see?" and "how does gas make the car go?" and "what do orange and blue make?")

Ruthie this morning moments after getting out of bed: "Oh, I found a plug." Me: "You found what?!" Ruthie: "I'm trouble." bwahahaha...it's true I tell her she is trouble about fifty thousand times per day. ;)

My bread recipe

I typed this up for someone on an email list, and then I figured I might as well post it here. This is the recipe I have worked up for 100% whole-wheat bread, based on several other recipes I've played with a bit.
